What is Blockchain?

A decentralised distributed ledger that cannot be altered, copied, or manipulated, each block is created with a specific data reordered onto a ledger and verified before another block is created. You cannot manipulate any data from any block without verification from all other blocks validating the change. Genesis Block is the name of the first block of Bitcoin ever mined. In 2009, a developer named Satoshi Nakamoto created the Genesis Block. The Genesis Block forms the foundation of the Bitcoin trading system and is the basis of all other blocks in the Bitcoin blockchain.

Today there are many blockchain trying to revolutionise various industry, from decentralised finance DEFI, supply chain management, web 3.0 data and file storage and many more applications. Bounce Creative Designs are please by a Dutch startup ‘The Movement’, bringing to market an exciting initiative focused on authenticating the fashion supply chain using blockchain. 

How Will This Work?

The Movement was founded in The Netherlands in January 2020, with a vision to make sustainable alternatives available for the textile industry, combined with a seamless supply chain integration. The innovative Polylana fibre has been developed as a lower-impact alternative for acrylic fibre. As acrylic fibre is made from acrylonitrile (ACN), it produces large quantities of hydrogen cyanide and has a large environmental footprint. Polylana and Aware now has the support of large influential brands and partners worldwide.

The process works with several carefully selected partner spinners adding the patented AWARE™ tracer material into the original recycled feedstock. A virtual representation of the yarn/fibre is then created as a digital token and stored on a decentralised and open-source blockchain. Unlike other fabric, the final product can be scanned at the end of production to confirm it’s made from the original certified recycled materials.
